Mayor

4-19-05

As Mayor of the largest Village located within the North Central School District, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff of North Central Schools for their generous offer to freeze their pay for two years.

I am sure this decision did not come easy for you and your families. Likewise, the decision individual voters must make to raise taxes on themselves is not an easy one.

The debate that has taken place over the past several months has been trying at times, but healthy in many respects. We will be a more productive society, if every now and then, we stop and analyze where we have been and where we want to go.

Having said this, I encourage all voters to take a hard look at all the positive influence North Central Schools provides to the lives of our children and to us adults as well. This weekend’s wonderful musical is just one of the many, many fine examples.

I encourage all to go ahead and voice your opinion, because that is what makes our country so much greater than any other. In the end however, please focus on the good things, the things that are right, and the things that will help create a better community and school district.

Voters, the children of this school district need your support. Without you, their future is in doubt. Without them, our future is in doubt. Please get involved and get all the facts. I am confident you will conclude what many citizens already have...

North Central Schools is an intrinsic part of our lives. In many respects it is who we are. Like anything else, not everything about it is perfect and productive, but it deserves our support. I encourage all of you to do so.

Best regards,

Edward A. Kidston
